If PSSap does not hold your tax file number (TFN), it may have a significant impact on your super benefit. Although it is not compulsory to provide your TFN, you should be aware of the consequences by law of not doing so:
- PSSap cannot accept your personal (after tax) contributions, and
- Your employer and any salary sacrifice contributions will be taxed at the top marginal tax rate plus the Medicare levy which equals 46.5%.
